CRITICAL INCIDENT
SUPERVISOR

The CIS Course is geared toward patrol supervisors desiring an
understanding of critical incident management, and how to apply
the skills necessary to manage a critical incident with patrol
resources prior to the arrival of a tactical unit.

This 2-day course covers all aspects of the critical incident
management for patrol supervisors, including SMEAC, ICLEAR,
mission statements, call classification, rules of engagement, safety
priorities, and legal authorities.

The course focuses on the “Big 3” call types – barricades, hostage
rescue, and active deadly threat – and describes the tactics to
manage them.

The course also covers supervisor considerations for containment,
patrol rifle deployment, and less lethal options.
